Video interviews from EW.com. I've only seen Angie's right now, but it's a facepalm kind of video. Not sure yet if I find her cutely naive, or annoyingly clueless of the game. www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20354695_20622229,00.html

No, this is good!! It means the other older players in the game will have a chance and hopefully won't be voted out just because of ageism.

I know Russell was quite strong in Samoa and that was just a couple of years ago, so he *should* still be strong and will be kept for challenges (and leadership skills). Jonathan wasn't really known as a challenge powerhouse, and was actually a strategic threat in Cook Islands. Mike was a great leader and a strong competitor in Australia but that was more than 10 years ago, so I can't say how his challenge prowess will be like.
Right now I think Jonathan's the most likely to be voted off pre-merge, while the other 2 should make the merge but then will be targeted for being strong.

So I was bored and reading up on some of the old threads in the old site, and then I ran into this post of mine (which I honestly do no remember I made): bwind22.suddenlaunch.com/index.cgi?board=show&num=1305518987&action=display&start=15(scroll down a bit) What I said: "I wouldn't be surprised if they invite Erik back. I am wondering who will be paired up with him. They can promote it like "the 2 players who made the dumbest moves in Survivor history comes back for Redemption". James (China, FvF, HvV) can also be considered for the other person who made the dumbest move, but he kind of redeemed himself already. Ok, so I think whoever they bring back has to fit a "theme". Players who made the dumbest move in Survivor history: Erik, James? Who else? Greatest players to never win: Rob C (strategy-wise), Ozzy (challenge-wise)... oh my, my memory is failing me lol. I can't remember anyone past Survivor China. Medevaced: Skupin, Jonathan Penner?, Russell Swan (Samoa)!Quitters? I wonder if they'd get any of the quitters to go back and NOT quit this time? lol" IS SOMEONE HERE WORKING WITH CBS OR SOMETHING?! First they "stole" my idea in BBAHD where if the HoH is safe, your teammates are also safe (BB11, Cliques twist). Now this? lol jk not trying to be an egotistical a-hole, but I get annoyed with all the coincidences that surround me so I try to call "them" out whenever I can. (By "them" I mean who's ever in charge of the Coincidence Department).

IS SOMEONE HERE WORKING WITH CBS OR SOMETHING?! I didn't want anyone to find out, but you caught me. I've been working with Survivor's creative department for the past 8 years and I host these games as a way to test out various ideas the team has come up with to see what works and what doesn't before we use it on the actual show.

Episode 1 thoughts: - It's really good to have a 90-minute premiere, because we get to know everybody and no one's delegated to the UTR role. - I know I shouldn't be complaining, and I don't want to complain, but I am doing it anyway! haha! Because I've seen all seasons of Survivor, the location kind of looks generic. I know it's not easy getting permits and stuff to shoot on these islands, but if it's no problem I would have chosen the limestone islands in El Nido, Palawan. - Yay for the intro! It's one of the things I am looking forward to in a season. - I thought Russell Swan was hilarious! I hope he lasts long though, but I'm afraid he'll get the boot soon enough. Same with Penner. What were those 2 thinking?! At this point only Skupin will make the merge. -_- My Fearless Forecast: I watched the "getting to know" videos in YouTube and the TV Guide preview as well, and the person that stood out to me was RC (the Wallstreet banker). Before the premiere I picked her as the winner, and then her intro shot is a strong one as well. (Intro shots of winners usually show them in a non-stressful manner, and no water). And then on the premiere itself we saw her forming an alliance immediately, so it looks like she knows how to play the game. So yea! My pick to win is RC.

There were a couple UTR people on the show for me. When I made the accounts and avatars for the Alias game last night, I just could not remember that there even was a Katie on the island or what she looked like. I had to keep going back to the CBS site to remind myself what I was doing when it came to her. I did like the premiere. Lisa seems like someone that would do fine had she been more honest to begin with. She seems sweet enough, but too guarded for this game. When you hide something you feel is significant about yourself, others can sense it and they won't trust you as much and won't bond with you. Lisa is making that mistake. I didn't like Russell during Samoa and I'm already liking him less. One of the best parts of the episode was Malcolm mocking him behind his back. From that tribe, I'm really liking Malcolm and Denise. Denise is already emerging as a great analytical player, so I think I'll wind up respecting her. Kent is doing a great job setting himself up and dragging Jonathan's name through the mud. He has it so nobody trusts the guy and when it started, Penner hadn't even really done anything, yet, and the tribe already wanted Penner gone. I see a pre-merge showdown coming between these two, which is unfortunate since I like both of them. Also, Kent is my eye candy for the season, so I don't want him going anywhere Oh, and for the record, Zane is by far one of the dumbest, if not the dumbest, people to ever play the game.

I also liked the 90 minute premier, but it'll still take me a few weeks to get the names down.
What the heck is up with Skupin? That guy's like a walking disaster. A half dozen injuries in the first episode? He won't make it to week 3 at this rate.
Malcolm & the little blond chick he was hitting it off with seemed likeable.
I hope Penner's tribe avoids TC until there's some shuffling. I'd hate to see him exit early again.
Russell Swan isn't going to last very long. When he goes into leadership mode, he's downright obnoxious and I wouldn't be able to tolerate it more than a week.
Jeff Kent's knee issue could be trouble for him if the next few challenges are physical.
Zane made a really stupid move that sent himself packing, which kinda sucks because I thought he had potential to be one of the more entertaining players this season.
Facts of Life girl won't last long.
One thing I always wonder about... Why do the tribes always throw together a crappy little shelter the first day or two and then stick with it all season? If I were on the island, I don't think I'd ever stop working on the shelter. By day 39, we'd be living like Swiss Family Robsinson. I'd like to see someone show up and build a sweet camp someday. Boston Rob's camps have been the best, but he stops working on them after a few days too.
I guess those were the main observations I made last night. Looking forward to another great season.

One thing I always wonder about... Why do the tribes always throw together a crappy little shelter the first day or two and then stick with it all season? Maybe they only have energy on the first few days, and after the first challenge they're all too exhausted and don't have much energy to improve their shelter. And they don't eat a lot either so the energy lost in challenges can't really be replaced that much.

Episode 3 So I am rooting for RC, because I think she's awesome (did you see her in that swimming challenge??). She's a strong competitor and a smart person. However, I think she's going to get the boot if Tandang goes to TC. All because of a paranoid Abi! I was annoyed with her! I am thinking her paranoia is not because of what RC is doing/did (although she shouldn't really be running off with Skupin too much), but I think Abi is just envious of RC. Does that sound pathetic and grasping-at-straws whiny? Well, whichever way you look at it, RC is better than Abi. RC is stronger in challenges, is smarter, is younger. Yea, I don't believe that age makes you better but there are women out there who feels threatened with anyone younger than them. Abi is 30+ years old and she hasn't accomplished a lot yet so it could be a reason of her negative feelings toward RC. Although, to be fair, at this point Abi is the better player. RC is too trusting. It's not just you form an alliance and that's it, you have to also continue talking with the other people that is not part of your alliance. And Abi found the Idol, so she also has an advantage over RC. What does this do to my theory? Well, I don't think RC will win anymore. But I also have another intro theory, where you can find out from which tribe the winner will come from by the intro shot of the tribe's first boot. Matsing's been losing too much so I can't make comparisons yet, but the first boot from the winner's tribe also follows the "no stress/no challenge clip" pattern. If RC is the first boot from their tribe, then the winner may come from them. Actually, Zane's intro isn't a challenge shot too, so winner may also come from them, but the rest of his tribe has challenge shots, except Russell, and I don't think Russell can get that far. LOL. Ahhh I should drop this. - Did anyone catch how Mike got that injury? I think he's really cursed. - Curious that we see a lot of strategic game play in Matsing (Denise and Malcolm) and Tandang (RC and Abi, Pete? Lisa?), but in Kalabaw only Penner and Jeff seem to be playing, the rest seems like floaters. This is what's good with 3 tribes, lots of potential power players! I think we're heading to a very good season. Can't wait for the mini-merge into 2 tribes, they always happen, unless they don't! zomg! It's possible too. I mean, next week doesn't look like there's a shuffle, so at Episode 5, we'll be down to 14 players. That's only 2 players away from a potential merge, so they could just do a double-boot (2 losing tribe go to TC) and then merge! Chaos!

I am too a fan of RC and would like her to make it far in the game.
I am not a Russell fan at all. I was screaming at the TV "DONT CRY ANGIE, IF YOU DO YOU ARE SCREWED" because it is definite "weak" although Russell was mean, I never liked him. He thinks he is the most amazing player ever, when in reality, he is not.
I can't stand Penner either... and more Idol blackmail -.-.
